Christophe Terraz
Statement
The Swiss painter Christophe Terraz has been working as a freelance artist for 14 years. Embedded in landscapes, his works tell stories from life. The mostly large-format oil paintings consist of different layers. The first thing you notice are the colorful paintings with their concrete motifs in teRaz’s characteristic style. At second glance, many symbols and figures emerge from the nuances of the colorful splendor and invite the viewer to discover other universes.
At the Kurioz Gallery in Zug, Christophe Terraz is showing some colorful oil paintings from his ‘LEBENSBÄUME’ series from 2022 to 2024.
Bio
Christophe Terraz had a wonderful childhood in Obfelden in Zurich’s Säuliamt district. When his grandfather and great patron Max Fasler bought a painting from him for the first time in 1983, Christophe knew he wanted to become an artist. After completing an apprenticeship as a structural draughtsman and the RS, he attended the preliminary course at the School of Design in Zurich in 1995. In order to give his art more space and to work part-time, Terraz trained as a psychiatric nurse in 1996.
