Statement

The Colombian artist -Claudia Ruiz- is inspired by nature and is committed to protecting the world’s endangered coral reefs with her art. Claudia Ruiz’s grandmother was a half-Indian Colombian and gave her a strong connection to and awareness of the importance of nature. Diving in the different oceans of the world, she got to know the immense beauty in the depths of the oceans and still feels happy today when she remembers the lasting impressive feeling of flying over the corals and admiring their beauty. She has stored these experiences deep inside her and wants to share them with people today through her art.

Claudia Ruiz has been committed to the preservation of endangered coral reefs and their restoration in Florida and Latin America for years. She donates a portion of every picture she sells to these projects.

Bio

At the age of nine, Claudia Ruiz attended her first course in perspective drawing with pencil, at twelve she learned watercolor painting from a well-known Colombian artist, as the only child in courses with only adults. The multi-talented and interested artist practiced a wide range of fine art techniques. She studied graphic design in the USA. This was followed by a lengthy training course in illustration at the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, which gave her the opportunity to work as a character illustrator at Walt Disney for Latin America in Miami.

This was followed by a few years of travel and extended stays in Thailand and Europe and further training, which she completed in Barcelona with a Masters in Art Direction.
