Liane Janissen

Statement

Liane Janissen’s “imaginary landscapes” are a kind of memory of situations she has experienced. Her subject in the large-format canvas paintings that she has produced in recent years is the systematic dissolution of the graphic through amorphous airbrush colors that flow into one another. This creates a sprawling surface structure and the choice of colors lends the works a strong presence.

Ideas are generated unconsciously and ultimately the moment decides when a picture is finished and which will be the next work.
