Statement

Schellinger Zaugg is an artist duo. Stefan Schellinger and Samantha Zaugg live and work in Zurich.

Schellinger Zaugg use existing objects and language to explore historical and cultural connotations. They play with slogans from advertising and combine them with materials such as natural stones. In doing so, they question popular narrative and visual codes. Another part of their artistic practice consists of research-based works. These works take the form of lectures, guided tours, or participatory formats such as table talks.

Their recent shows include Reizende Aussichten!?, Haus zur Glocke, Steckborn and Of Each Absence, ETH-Klimarunde, Zürich. Currently they are in residence at the SWB Experimenthaus Neubühl, Zürich. Future projects include Kunststipendien der Stadt Zürich (2025), Helmhaus, Zürich and Atelierstipendium Belgrade (2026), Kulturstiftung des Kantons Thurgau.
